Hi does anyone have the password for Sunday please?
There won’t be one for today, as these papers, The Leicester Mercury at least, do not have a Sunday edition.
The last 2 codes should be printed on Monday and Tuesday

Forgive the new user account, it's (quite literally!) about 10 years since I posted on the MSE forums. No idea what the username was but I know it was attached to my student email!

This is strange - I'm in Manchester and found the first two codes (Wednesday and Thursday). Friday's didn't seem to exist (in either the paid or free edition of the Manchester Evening News). Saturday's was in there. I wondered if the six included skipping the Friday but then when I looked on here it seems that there was one for Friday. The rest of the passwords match up apart from the missing one on Friday. Incidentally, I checked every newsagent I could find in Manchester city centre and they were all lacking the password.

I wonder whether they're being cheeky and the password sequence is different depending on the paper (if you go to the submission page it asks which paper you picked up the codes from).

I will head in to town to pick up the Evening News (I think there's a Sunday edition but it's also a few years since I picked up hard copies!) and see what's in today's. I guess either there will be another one today or on Tuesday. Either way I'll post back later today after I've picked up (or not, if there's no Sunday edition) a copy.
  • OK I took a wander round the newsagents in Manchester again and managed to find Sunday's edition of the Evening News. Just to confirm there is no password today (Sunday)! I cross referenced in a few newsagents just in case. I know other contributors mentioned their papers don't circulate on Sunday but I just wanted to double check mine (based on my experience in the previous post, not because of distrust!). Looks like for whatever reason there was no password in either the paid and free Evening News city centre editions on Friday (picked up around 5pm Friday).

Have a look here, can see in page 2 of your garden section for the 24th , even though veiled you can see the password..

  • Cheers tubbyj! That has put my mind at rest that I'm not going crazy (at least with regards to this!), for some reason there's no garden section in my print copy (actually there doesn't seem to be any 'City Life' section where the home, garden, music etc. stuff usually is). Wonder if it was just a dodgy batch as I presume all of the Newsagents I visited probably had the same batch. Either that or someone REALLY wanted to win this and tore out the respective pages! Oh well, either way, thanks for your kind help!
