Switching to cheaper tariff with same supplier

Hi All - just a quickie. If I try to switch to a cheaper tariff with the same supplier (AVRO) whilst not within 49 days of end, would they charge me an exit fee?

I don't think any?? company will charge you exit fees if you switch to a another tariff in their company.


The period of the new fixed deal will apply, as will any new conditions of the tariff e.g. the latest BG 12 month fix requires you to get smart meters.

There are many suppliers who apply early exit fees for ending a contract early, and that includes transferring to another tariff with them. (although admittedlly, not all of them)

e.g. So Energy today have confirmed on this site that they would apply their early exit fee for transferring to a new tariff before their switching window opens, although theirs is only £5.00 per fuel.

However, I'm not sure Avro Energy apply exit fees as all.
At least they don't if you applied direct to them; they may do if you switched to them via a third party (e.g. collective tariff) and possibly received some cashback.

If I recall correctly, the MSE 18month fixed tariff collective available as dual fuel only (Avro Energy Simple and MSE Collective) in Septemeber 2018 did unusually have a total of £60 early exit fees associated wiith it. Anyone on that tariff would need to refer to the specific terms they received applicable to that tariff
