IAS make a criteria based decision.

The IAS makes a decision about profit for their members ?
The IAS SCAM requires a full investigation by the authorities and those who invented this.
Pinky and Perky are well overdue a room at Her Majesty's Pleasure for their mega scam

I received a parking ticket for my ticket being upside down on the dashboard.

If they take this to court they may struggle. Many judges regard these so called breach of contract claims as frivolous, a waste of court time. Read this,

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP, it can cause the scammer extra costs and work, and has been known to get the charge cancelled.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.

You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
  • So I found the land owner and email now sent. Fingers crossed they waiver the penalty

They won't, but you will likely win at your local court. PPS are not 'dreaded'!

Please appreciate what the advice here is and get on board and calm down:

    (a) - never try IAS

    (b) - win at court instead (we have a 99% win rate).

So, you made a mistake with (a). Don't panic about (b) where you win!

Nope , the IAS is a kangaroo court and should not have been tried , neither of the appeals service accept mitigation

Complain to the landowner , then await court papers within 6 years

Based on my own experience, it's a waste of time appealing to the so-called IAS. They are not independent and will dismiss your appeal even when you have clear evidence to disprove any contract existed between you & the landowner. It's just a money-making scam, which the Government should investigate.

They already have, and passed a new law last year to get rid of the two failing appeals 'services' and replace them with a single statutory CoP and appeals system overseen by the Secretary of State.  That will be being worked on, and hopefully finalised, this year.
