"the dealership has said the engine management light came on within the first 30 days. They have said Peugeot warranty authorised a temp repair until B/O wiring loom arrived four months and five days after the sale".
Contradiction of a major fault

An EML doesn't, I agree. This doesn't matter in the eyes of the consumer rights act. The vehichle presented a fault that subsequently required a major repair, nobody can deny a wiring loom replacement is minor.
This isn't an argument about the safety of the vehicle, but moreso if its satisfactory or fit for purpose, the finance company have the response.
I understand people are on these forums to read between the lines which does provide help.0
