Roundabouts
Options
There is another thread about rude hand signals after a roundabout & it made me think of a roundabout I use frequently.
It’s a big one, 3 lanes feeding onto it & 5 junctions in total.
My understanding is you would use the left lane for the first two exits, the middle lane for the third & the right hand lane for the forth & fifth (back on yourself) exits.
A lot of people use the middle lane for the second junction, which leads to some near misses sometimes, not had one, but witnessed many.
To make matters worse the markings on the round about are a bit on the pale side. There are 3 lanes going around, but a lot of people enter from the left lane & immediately switch to the middle lane, same thing with the middle lane, often the enter on the middle and immediately move to the right - sometimes they are sort of shoved over.
It’s from the M23 to Three Bridges, by the Sandman’s (I think that’s what it’s called) hotel.
I know someone who had a crash on it years ago.

On roundabouts (well, anywhere really) be very careful & assume everyone else isn't being very careful.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

Remember those public information films you used to get on TV about parallel parking and crossing the road? There used to be one about roundabouts.
It is a pity there are no public information films now - at least not for motoring.0 -

Who cares? The rules in NI are mostly the same as in rUK, and I doubt roundabout rules are any different. Just because it (maybe) doesn't suit your argument doesn't make my post any less valid.
Ireland is a different country anyway, and in no way linked to what I posted.0
