2.5 year old TV dies, worth chasing?

Options
We bought this April 2017 for £170 and today it has seemingly failed:

Telefunken 32TFN-NSHD HD Ready 32 inch LED TV with Freeview HD (Amazon Exclusive) https://smile.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01LWX9J20/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_v2kjEbC41MQK8

The Amazon website says support expired after 2 years. Is it worth even trying to chase Amazon or anyone else under reasonable lifespan etc? Or realistically do we just write it off?

No harm in asking but legally the onus is on you to prove the any fault is inherent to manufacture and tbh for a (very) cheap TV I'd doubt it'll be worth spending the time and money on.

Almost 3 year old TV that cost £170. Unlikely to repair, apparently no longet available, partial refund £20 perhaps? That is if you can show inherent fault.

    Not worth it.

Proving it was inherently faulty might be tricky...

(Says she currently watching her Sony Bravia that cost £700 over 18 years ago and still amazing... )
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

A shame that under 3 years is considered acceptable but this was what I'd assumed

my advise would be to purchase your new set from John Lewis or Richer sounds and get a 5 or 6 year gtee

You've had three years use out of a very low budget TV so, even if you were able to prove an inherent fault, you would receive only a small fraction of the purchase price.

I recommend you perhaps spend a little more on your next TV and, as others have said, purchase from a retailer with a five year warranty.

No guarantee a more expensive one will last longer and I don't need anything better. Choosing a vendor with better service is a good call though. I was looking at RS and they don't seem to cost more on low-end stuff, so thanks for the advice.
