PCM Fine - Advice on next steps

Hello - would really appreciate some advice on the next steps to take on a private parking charge.

I parked in a friends residentaial car park (he lives in a block of flats) went up for a cup of tea and catch up, then came down to a PCN from PCM on my windscreen. I responded to the Notice to Keeper with the template response from the Newbie thread, and have now been offered an IAS appeal. The advice I read on here is not to bother with that.

Have tried my best to figure this all out myself, but wanted to double-check the next steps. Do I basically just ignore their letters from now on unless they decide to try and take me to court? Would really appreciate some clarification.

Kind regards and many thanks,

SS

You need to read the newbies thread in this section.

It explains all the steps and has all the template letters

If not already mentioned you will need to look at your friends lease/rental agreement.
in short if there is no requirement to display a permit then you were parked with permission

  • Thanks - I'll ask him if he can dig it out. He seemed to think it would have been fine for a visitor to park there for a short time.

They've included pictures of a warning sign in their letter, although its miles away from the car and you would have had to cross the car park to investigate it.

Any signinage form the parking company is of no consequence if the lease/rental/freehold allows for parking in that space.
