I did use a local tyre place. A bit expensive but I thought they would be good. My car needs reinforced tyres so I was a bit upset to find them fitting a non reinforced one that could have killed me. The last time I went they jacked the car under the the sills which bent them. You can't unbend them. They then overtightened the wheel nuts so much they couldn't undo them. I'd rather just do the job properly myself. Much better in the long run.

What load rating does your car require, what's the max axle loading on that end (it's on the VIN plate), and what load rating did they fit?

They were going to fit one with a lower load rating than my car requires. Luckily I had asked to look at it before fitting. They apologized and then ordered one of the correct rating. They are never very happy when you ask to see a tyre before it is fitted. If you order them online you can be sure it's right before you take it for fitting.

What's the point? How can you not understand?

Because if the lower tyre rating is only marginally lower, and still above the max legal axle loading, you're being massively melodramatic.

I am not being massively melodramatic.

Then why not give the numbers?
  • Don't worry Fred246, AdrianC seems to nit-pick with most posters; he probably has nothing else to do in life. I understood your post perfectly thank you.
