Beware Tyreleader!

Sent wrong tyre, wont refund! In Andorra, avoiding UK and EU laws.
They dont care about fixing their mistakes. Sent wrong tyre, entry level budget Infinity not premium Continental as ordered. Fitter agent fitted. Now wont refund because it was fitted. Based in Andorra so hiding outside UK law and EC ADR redress processes. AVOID!

Offered a measly £10 following this review. Not even covering the difference in price of tyre sent vs tyre ordered. Atrocious!

Andorra doesnt give you the protection you get buying from UK or EC firms. Read other online review sites and make up your own mind before you buy. I wish I had...

Why did you have it fitted if it was the wrong tyre.

They're not "hiding" from anything, they're simply not governed by UK/EU law, which you should've been aware of before buying from them in the first place.

    Greed, pure and simple.

But, thanks for the warning, OP. I'll be sure to avoid buying new tyres from, er...Andorra in future. I don't know where I'll get them from though, there's a real shortage of tyre suppliers in the U.K.

Why should they abide by uk law? You should pop over to Andorra and have them in court.
  • I've had Infinity tyres and they were good if that is any consolation.

It's hardly a secret that they're an Andorran company, that the purchase is under Andorran law, or that Andorra is not an EU member.

You chose to buy from them - presumably, they were a little bit cheaper than a UK or EU supplier...?
  • yeah but who reads all that stuff? They advertise as Tyreleader.co.UK not Tyreleader.co.Andorra, lol

Thanks to mjross for alerting us to this dodgy company.

You do know that absolutely anybody from anywhere in the world can use a .co.uk domain, right...?

Domain names imply nothing about origin at all. Given that this is a UK site using a US TLD, I'm surprised that's news to you.

I have bought a lot of tyres off them but I have never had a problem. All the correspondence has Saarbrucken in Germany on it. I always have the tyre posted to me though. I can then check the spec to stop garages fitting the wrong tyre which has happened to me. Also check their age. Just take the wheel and tyre to local tyre fitters. Prevents garages causing damage by jacking in the wrong places which has happened a lot to me. Can then torque the wheel nuts myself to prevent garages overtightening them which has happened to me. Only disadvantage is the rubbery smell it leaves in the hall before you have it fitted.
