As Gerry1 says, read Post 9.
If this is the "large furniture shop" that I believe it may be, it is one of a few such big chains that have all their furniture made in China. That is why it takes at least 9 weeks (and often longer) to produce the completed furniture. In fact, it is often sent to the UK warehouse broken down, to be reassembled there. I know this because I know someone who used to work in such a company and he advised me where to go. The TV ads from these chains make me laugh, it's errant nonsense.
It cost me more, but I went to a local company which used only UK - manufactured furniture. Both of us were measured for the chairs we wanted and both chairs were produced with different seat heights, different seat depths but same fabric and patterns. We were so pleased with the results that we also bought a swivel recliner in the same fabric and pattern.
OP, I hope you get your deposit back but you have to work for it. Use the link that Gerry1 provides in Post 9.I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.

How about the Chargeback scheme operated by MasterCard or Visa, depending on the OP's debit card, as explained in the link in Post 9 ?
Yes I know the page well..
But which chargeback option are you thinking of using?
Chargeback is not a blanket get out of jail card.
All well and good suggesting something, but like the other poster who's option was "The deal stinks"....
If Op goes to their bank they will say sorry but there is nothing they can do as no regulation covers their situation.
As it's an in store purchase". OP said "It was an order form that I signed"
No chargeback right for change of mind.Life in the slow lane0 -
