Hi everyone, a quick question. Do vigin mobile run a harder check ? I try to get a mobile contact but was declined du to credit check ?
How do these checks work with mobile company ? Does it matter what bank card I use ? Does run check on my actual card ? Or my overall financial history ?

Same way as anybody else if its a contract deal, they have to make sure you can afford 12/18/24/36 months of repayments after all. If your history says you live in an overdraft then the assumption is that you can't afford more debt.
It'll be you overall with your credit history, the card and bank you use is irrelevant, though some may be able to improve your rating.
You can see what may be causing the decline through the Credit Club:

If it was for a phone+service it would have been a hard check most likely as it's essentially a loan for the purchase of the device. If it's a SIM only it might have been a soft check.
Just check your credit record for free and see what kind of check was carried out by Virgin mobile and what in your record might be causing you issues:

The credit checks are against you as a person, not the specific card/account you used.
On a side note - why do you even bother for contract, when one of the best deals are PAYG0 -
Thanks you both for the help, am definitely gonna take a look into my credit score see what's it like etc
I need buy a phone first though ? I for payg don't mind contracts, I usually stay within the 30 ish a month mark0 -
If you buy a phone separately (SIM-free), then it's either PAYG or a SIM-only contract.
£30 p.m. is a huge amount for airtime without a phone - See the links to MSE articles at the top:

Not sure if they're the best sim only deals, but they definitely aren't the best deals. Currently you could get a cashback deal costing £2.50 p.m. (less if a cashback site pays up) with 3gb, unlimited minutes and texts and a basic phone thrown in (I always sell the phone - the last one was £3.50 a month but sold the phone for £180 and got TCB).
However, I think the OP might not be someone who should consider a cashback deal from the questions they ask (if they don't do it right the deal would end up costing them a LOT more per month).0
