  • Thank you regularsaver.

Hi killerpeaty, second one is due the middle of the month.
MCR are doing some kind of comeback. They're doing 3 shows in Milton Keynes which one I am now going to  I still love panic at the disco. I saw them for a second time last year

The house is a full renovation project. Bathroom and kitchen have already been ripped out, fireplaces have been opened back up. Literally everything from top to bottom is being redone. Hoping to keep some of the original features and put back in some the previous owners had ripped out. It'll be lovely once it's done and exactly how we want it but until then what we currently own is a bomb site :rotfl:

Do you feel like a teen again? I transport back everytime I listen to papa roach. :rotfl:

I like the new panic songs that I have heard. But I did mishear that one that goes "hey look mum I made it" and heard"hey look mum I'm naked"... Honestly I prefer my version.

What styles are you aiming for kitchen and bathroom?
  • Happy sunday folks.

I did as promised, my OH and I have moved £30 each to the gift pot and I've moved £50 into this months overpayment pot.

    Positive money bits:
    - Car parking appeared in my account sooner than I thought so I have split £3.90 between overpayment pot and savings.
    - £3.07 from PollPass and cash out of £18.14 on Prolific have also been moved and split.
    - Popped into town today to trade in my old iphone 5. It's been living in a box under my bed for around 5 years. Finally decided to get rid and got £21 for it  They gave my the cash so I'll need to pop to the bank to pay it in.
    - Scanned any receipts I could find from the last 7 days on Shoppix, Receipt Hog and ClickSnap. Need another 40 tokens on Shoppix to cash out for £5 and 13 coins on Receipt Hog to cash out for £5 too.

    Negative money bits:
    - ZipZero seems to be having a few issues and won't accept any of my receipts. Little bit frustrating but hopefully that will be sorted soon.

Overpayment pot currently stands at £63.96 _party_

Enjoy the rest of your evening everyone. I'm off to watch The Crown and see if I can get a few surveys in before I go to bed .

Not sure I ever left my teen stage. I frequently update my music library but never really delete anything :rotfl:

The whole house I'm hoping for an "oldy modern" theme, if there is such thing. The old part will come from keeping as many of the intact 1930's features as possible. Bathroom and kitchen will probably be more on the modern side since there are no old features in the bathroom (mainly because we ripped out the horrid blue bath suite) and the kitchen only has the quarry tiles on the floor but many are broken and very uneven. The pantry has half concrete floor and half quarry tiles so if we can, I want to rescue the kitchen ones and lay them in the pantry, at least they can still be part of the house that way.

  • Has it really been a whole week since my last update? Whoops. I've obviously been a lot busier than I thought.
And we have a whole new forum now. Already missing the old emojis :disappointed:

Despite a week having passed, not a great deal has been spent or saved to be honest.

    Positive money bits:
    - I have cashed out on Shoppix and Receipt Hog for £5.00 each.
    - Tilly tidy is done for this week - £2.82
    - Spent £20.00 on a baby shower gift but this came out of our gift pot so had already been budgeted for.
    - Zipzero is working again now. Tested it out by paying £1.14 off my phonebill. It worked so going to continue to scan my receipts and use it to pay some more bills.
    - Managed to get a couple of studies done on Prolific in between everything else, just waiting for them to be approved now.
    - Won a cast iron fireplace on eBay for the house for a bargain £62. It needs a little restoration but it is beautiful

Negative money bits (aka things that have annoyed me this week):
    - This week I received not one, but two debt collector letters from British Gas. They had sent a few letters to the house saying money was owed. I've spoken to them and said "this person does not live here anymore and they haven't for 2 months now" and all they can say is "we don't have another address for them" and not to worry as I am not responsible for the debt prior to buying the property but still they keep sending them to me. Next thing I know, debt collector letters. Really frustrating
I've now wrote to the debt companies in hope they will finally get the message and leave me alone. If they don't, I might just cry because I've had enough of them.
Sorry guys, that's my small whinge over.

Overpayment pot currently has £70.37 in it now.

And on that note, I'm off to make a cup of tea, watch an episode or two of The Crown and catch up on a couple of diaries.

The debt collection letters must be really frustrating (and a bit scary). I think writing to them is the best course of action - then it's all laid out clearly and hopefully will do the trick! And in the meantime, I can't think of anything better than The Crown, tea and diaries!! :)

  • Hello all, don't really have anything to report, just thought I would pop on and say hi.

Still trying to get used to this new forum. It doesn't seem as user friendly as the old one. Not sure I like it
Going to have to stick at it though because writing this diary makes me accountable and gives me added motivation.

themadvix honestly it is terrifying. I'm genuinely scared they'll keep sending letters or turn up on the door step demanding payment. We're not currently living in the property due to renovations so if they turn up in the day, likelihood is no one will be there. What happens then? :worried:

Been feeling a little under the weather the last couple of days too :mask: Had lots of headaches, a sore throat and my body does not seem to be able to decide what temperature to be. One minute I am sweating my socks off and the next I putting on 4 layers and still dithering :cold_sweat:
I've still been ploughing on with house renovations and going to work despite feeling so rubbish (I will have probably infected half the office by the end of the week). I have restored the fireplace I purchased on eBay to it's former glory and it is beautiful. Can't wait to get it fitted. Might post a before and after on Instagram tomorrow to show it off
Thinking I should perhaps take a day off from the renovations and rest up. Maybe I'm feeling unwell because I'm just stressed and exhausted and my body is trying to tell me that.

I'm slowly but surely completing the coursework for my qualification but am really struggling for motivation  Rumour has it the job adverts are due to come out either the end of this week or the beginning of next week. I'm looking to potentially side step from my current admin role and become a support worker instead for the same team. My team and managers are so supportive and have been pushing me to get my coursework done so I can apply, sending me on training, allowing me to shadow them and get some experience so I have the best chance. Basically, anything that might help me, they've got me doing. I have already spoken to the "higher ups" and they are more than happy for me to apply despite not having finished my course. My team really want this for me (but also do not want me to be moved to another team if I got the job :joy:). So other than not actually having finished my level 3, I am in a really good position to apply. From what I gather the adverts will be put out externally so anyone could apply so I'm not resting my hopes on getting a job because chances are, there will be people who are much more experience in a support worker role will apply and could get it. My saving grace is I know all our processes and systems like the back of my hand which anyone new wouldn't.
I guess we will have to see once the adverts come out. Fingers crossed I will get shortlisted and get a chance at an interview.

If you've read this far, thanks. I will mention my small amount of money positives so reading this won't have been a complete waste of your time.

    Positive money bits:
    - I reached cash out point on OnePulse again so have done that. Cash out is in $ so converted $5.00 it to £ on PayPal so another £3.76 to split between the pots.
    - I have £5.99 ready to cash out on Prolific and have another £2.63 waiting for approval. Hopefully a couple more studies will pop up this week. Will possibly cash out over the weekend and split.

I don't think debt collectors have any right to get into the property. They would have to take you to court and court-appointed bailiffs might be able to gain access to the property. But as it's not your debt, it would never get through court. So don't worry about debt collectors turning up.

Your work sounds like a lovely place - that they're all so supportive is great! Good luck with the job application - hope you get an interview. It sounds like they'll be keen to find you a place if it's at all possible!

Feel free to waffle on your diary - it's *your* diary!
