Switching provider, confusion

Switching from Plusnet for Broadband to another provider (Post Office) just came out of the 18 month minimum period, on their site it says
You’ve got two options when leaving Plusnet…

Option 1. Moving to another provider

If you’re going to most other broadband providers, you don’t need to tell us a thing. Just set everything up with them and they’ll let us know when to switch your Plusnet service off.

If you’re moving to Virgin, you’ll need to tell us yourself. Your Plusnet account will only close when your new service has been set up.

Option 2. Cancelling your services

If you do want to cancel all of your Plusnet services, you’ll need to call!0800 432 0200!and let us know.

There’s every chance someone will try and convince you to stay, but if you really do want to go they’ll get your services stopped as soon as possible

I'm confused whether I'm option 1 or 2, I pay line rental and have the evening and weekend call (have bit got a home phone).

  • Switches across the Openreach infrastructure are gaining provider led, so you just need to take out a new contract with your new provider and they will deal with your old provider for you.

If you are switching to / from Virgin Media then this is not the case.
