When I put my age (76) into car hire in Dublin, the charge nearly doubles from under 75 , any ideas please ?

    The problem is the cost of car insurance in Ireland, many companies charge a supplement from 70 and many stop all rentals at 75. Enterprise and Europcar will rent at 76 but I doubt there is an easy way of avoiding the extra charges

    Seems that is the problem - insurance costs - guess my wife ( 73) will have to rent !!
