Booked flights for my brothers wedding.
Edinburgh to Cork in April.
Booked flights back on the Sunday at 19.10, just been told we have been bumped off this flight and on to one at 6.40am!!
Is there anything we can do? We basically are losing a whole day at the venue that we had planned.
The 19.10 flight has vanished and been replaced by one at around 8am which my parents have been moved to.
Any help gratefully received.

Also travelling with a toddler so don’t really fancy a 4.30am start. Not that the airline will give a !!!! about that...The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0

Schedule changes can happen...., often the rebooking is done by computer. I am assuming this is Easter Sunday - there are 2 flights 06:40 and 08:15...work out what the best result would be for you eg
move to the 08:15 flight
flight to Glasgow at 11:00
move flight to next day - although would be 06:40 (or 10:45 to GLA) and you would be responsible for own accommodation
flight from Dublin to Edinburgh (although looks a bit of a trek from Cork to Dublin)
cancel for refund (what would alternatives be?)
once you gather what might work for you give them a call.0 -
Thanks for the reply.
It’s the Sunday after Easter Sunday.
The 8.15 is marginally better and I’d at least be travelling with the rest of the wedding party. We’d all booked the evening flight as we had a day planned together.
Do we have no recourse for the fact they’ve just ruined our weekend? The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
Timetable changes from Winter to Summer timetable at end of March. It looks like they had hoped to operate a morning and an evening flight but when slots approved they have ended up with 2 morning flights

Thanks, that’s really crap
We arranged the weekend based on flights and now it’s ruined. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
Is there an alternative flight with a different airline more suitable? If so AL are obliged to put you on this, under the regulations, at their expense. If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

The alternative routing for a pm departure looks like via Amsterdam (4 hours there) with Aer Lingus and KLM0

Unfortunately not. Anything else is a big detour and about 3/4 additional hours travel which with a one year old doesn’t fill me with joy.
Outbound flight has just been changed too, thankfully it’s still ok!The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
They’ve moved the return flight again. Thankfully to a more godly hour at 12.35, it’s still rubbish in that we’re losing the day we’d planned but it means we don’t have to get up in the middle of the night and won’t ruin our evening before. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0
