Wrong vehicle Registration Number

I too put in the wrong vehicle registration. I relied on my Contacts list in my IPhone, paid the £6 and left the NCP Stanmore LU Station. I appealed to this PCN immediately online saying that I had proof of payment but heard nothing for two months until I received the first of 4 payment requests from ZZPS. Each time I replied to them sending the relevant proof of payment, proof of previous ownership of the original vehicle, proof of ownership of the present vehicle to no avail. Today I have received a letter from QDR Solicitors requesting payment, now £182. Your help and advise would be most welcome.

So you complain to Gemma Dorans at the BPA about the lack of POPLA code. Search the forum, there are loads of cases like this and her email is on the forum several times.

No phoning or contacting QDR, who have added a false £82 (not just £60).

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP, it can cause the scammer extra costs and work, and has been known to get the charge cancelled.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.

  • I have now received a second letter from QDR requesting recovery of the debt of £182.00, and requesting payment in full within 14 days. It further suggests that failure to make payment may result in them recommending to their client that we pass this matter over to their Litigation Department etc., which could mean they will look to obtain a CCJ. Do I ignore this further letter?

My next step is to formally write to my MP, whilst I wait a constructive reply from the AOS Investigation Team as to why I did not get a POPLA code from NCP. Is this the next step?

That letter from QDR is just a harmless debt collectors letter.
The clues are a) only giving you 14 days to respond, and b) them suggesting they may consider thinking about possibly heading towards litigation.

Post #4 of the NEWBIES thread tells you exactly how to deal with debt collectors letters.

See post number 2. Have you complained to the SRA yet?

Also scan the letter and send it to Gemma Dorans and tell her QDR are scaring you.
