crazy cat lady how lovely that your neighbourhood collected donations for shoeboxes.
I had a bag of new toys I had collected for the Salvation Army Toy appeal and when I went to drop it in my local shop, it looked like it had shut down.  I think I’ll  drop them an email to see if they will take the donation, otherwise I’m not sure what I will do.

    I

  • Katiehound -no I didn’t, have 3 boxes ready aswell. DM’s affairs and the tooth infection saga
took over as the dentist fought to keep me out of hospital so focused on the small bits. I was thinking about them today. Will give my collector a ring as it buys me extra time. Thank you for mentioning it as I had no idea and it’s sad they have had to suspend operations :disappointed: In many ways it would be easier to send them direct to HQ but I haven’t a box to pack them in
CCL2- it’s lovely what your estate have done. Definately a new way of working, but if it works that is the main thing.
i have some toys for the toy collection but Tesc@ and Morries are always very late putting a collection point out. I hope they still do it this year.
I was thinking today that I will need to get some Christmas cards done early for DD to take back with her aswell. I don’t do many cards these days.
I’m waiting for a very late landmark birthday present to come. Ordered from Etsy as I wanted something personalised. Feel really bad it is so late but I think it will be appreciated.
Still a couple of presents to wrap and a present to send to America and then I’m done. Really want to enjoy December stress free!

A few ahem, lockdown ‘essentials’ while I was grabbing some cat food in The Range.

The stockings are for my mum and her partner.  Last year, they came to us for the day and I got them stockings, but I could only find stockings in Poundland.  These ones are much nicer and only £3.

The tree skirt was £7, which replaces the poundshop one we’ve had for years.  I never thought to replace the tree skirt we had, but someone posted that The Range had reasonably priced ones, so it would have been rude not to...

  • Chanie- funny enough I was in The Range today aswell! Managed to get a couple of gonks for friends. They had a big stash of them before the local lockdown so thought there would be a big stash today but only a couple left so I grabbed them. The Range have some really lovely things out, really good prices.
i can’t believe the stockings were only £3. Didn’t see them in our store but will prob be going again at some point as we are now out of lockdown and you could tell, it was so busy.

Pleased you are out of lockdown - ours is only just beginning.    The Range was busy with lots of people looking at Xmas decorations, I think many people are putting up their trees early.   We’ve decided to decorate in early December -we normally decorate the second week of December.
  • If only there was a range near us. I need a new tree skirt.
Everyone seems to be posting on Facebook that trees are up. I want to desperately, but the cats would have it down a million times and husband is very against it til next month. Boo. So I booked December 1st off work to do the entire house.

Great that you’re out of lockdown. How is the news looking, has it helped? 3 weeks to go here. And I guess they’ll extend it too. Though the news yesterday of a vaccine is looking promising :)

crazy cat  The Range  had some amazing Xmas decorations at great prices.  We haven’t bought many new decorations in a few years and I love what they had in store.

I love that you are planning on taking the day off to decorate - that’s dedication.
  • I sent a present to America today, an eye watering £24 postage, I had been warned that the postage had really gone up. The contents weren’t expensive, all Christmas bits, but it was worth the postage as I know my friend will be really appreciate getting the parcel.
Things have moved along on the wrapping front and I am starting to put things in gift bags.
While I was posting the parcel this morning I popped into the c@rd f@ctory for more supplies of gift bags and parcel tape. It’s so sad to see town so quiet.
We’re not a big place with lots of shops but some of the shops have closed for good

happy kitties how lovely of you to spend £24 on postage, on top of a gift.  I’m not sure I could bring myself to spend that much.

  • Chanie I did struggle I must admit. It was only bec I said I would be sending the parcel and friend hasn’t got a lot that I did it.
I think it would def only be a once a year Christmas thing and if I did it next Christmas, choose lighter things.
Taking a few of DMs Christmas things to the CS this morning. She has so much, I can drop some things off at the home but not the amount she has so spent last night sorting out the important bits for her.
