Today has been really tough. Lost count of how many times I've cried today.
I'm watching a friend of mine doing a facebook live this evening. His page is http://www.facebook.com/captainofthelostwaves if anybody fancies having a listen tooRule 7: If you're not changing it, you're choosing it.

Today has been better so far. Certainly not feeling tearful so far, although I suppose there's chance yet.
3 of the chickens have gone broody. I always hate this part of owning chickens. When they're broody they don't lay, AND they occupy a nest box almost constantly which makes it more difficult for the other chickens to lay. We only 3 nest boxes, which is a pita if they're all occupied by broodies screaming every time someone else comes near them. One of the things you can do is try to "break" them by putting them in a cage on bricks so that they get a cold wind up their front. You can also block them from having access to the nest boxes (but that doesn't help the other chickens who are still laying. Suffice it to say, I don't know what to do with them so I'm just ignoring them right now.
I went shopping this morning: Ald1 first, then Morris0ns to fill in any blanks. Had to queue to get in to both and most people inside were behaving sensibly (although not all).
Total spends
Food: £77.40
Cat food: £4.75
Currently at 62% of food budget for 14/3/20 - 13/4/20, with probably 2 more shops before the 13th (one on Monday next week, one on Friday next week).
Think I overdid the pilates on Tuesday evening. My hip flexors are complaining at me. It's not as bad as yesterday though, and will probably ease off tomorrow just in time for the next class!Rule 7: If you're not changing it, you're choosing it.

Pilates this morning, which was preceded by half an hour of phaffing with the computer/updates etc. The camera worked! Only now it doesn't again. One shot deal.

Post-pilates aches are all in my obliques today, but nowhere near as bad as midweek, which implies I didn't overdo it this time. Yay!
This morning's job was figuring out how to be able to read things on my Kindle that the Kindle can't read, and as a result I've downloaded Calibre and converted some EPUB documents into MOBI documents. I read a lot anyway, but since lockdown I've been reading more on my phone and have found myself getting headaches.... I'm putting them down to either eye strain or bad posture. Figured switching to the Kindle would be better for my eyes and will attempt to have regular breaks or something?
The silk painting kit I ordered arrived this morning so I've unpacked that. Will start planning the designs sometime soon: I have 4x 9 inch hoops and 2x 4 inch hoops to fill, so quite a bit of scope for creativity and I already have ideas for 1 friend and my parents. Ten days until I can pay for that, and then I'll cross it off my mental list.
Himself made an attempt to quit vaping, which lasted all of 36 hours. However, he has said that it's really brought into focus for him how complacent he had gotten with it, and has set himself some ground rules in an effort to actively move towards quitting again (he had plateaued the last year or so). At the end of May it will be 5 years since he smoked a cigarette (our friends' wedding, and their 5th anniversary is this year). The vape spends this month are at 207% of budget, which I am DEEPLY unimpressed about; some of that is because the shop he usually buys from is closed, and therefore he's had to buy from the garage twice (which is well expensive) and order online (which is more expensive because postage), but some of it is because he's managed to run out faster than usual (with no discernible reason as far as either of us can tell because he hasn't been vaping more and he hasn't had any leaks or spillages which is the usual cause of him running out faster), AND this is one of the months where he's had to buy twice (one purchase usually lasts 3 weeks so some months there's one purchase and some months there's two). Needless to say, I'm rather grouchy about it.

Still a lot cheaper than cigarettes would have been though, if that helps with perspective? Healthier too (probably)Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

it's purely the financial side of it that bothers me - I guess because I don't get anything from the money spent! Hmm, that's an interesting reflection... I'm gonna have to go away and unpack that a bit, I think.

I'm on 49 submissions and desperately hoping the 49 isn't their threshold because it's not a nice round number!(I'm the kind of person who eats grapes/sweets in pairs and has to have the volume on an even number...

I do the same with the volume, unfortunately I just reduce sweets to an even zero... 😞If it's not adding up, compound it!2
