I've just received a letter saying I will be getting a telephone regarding the the title of this thread.
I get PiP and ESA (contribution).
The bottom page of page 1 says that when I claimed benefits I agreed to tell them straight away about any changes of my circumstances and they need to speak to me to make sure my payments are correct.
Of course like many people I'm now getting worried.
Does anyone have any idea or advice what this could be about?
The number on the letter that says if I need to contact them on is a local area telephone number.
My PiP is up for renewal later this year though I don't imagine it will be that.
Thank you for any advice

My worry is it could be about any type of benefit fraud. I've never committed any fraud. But still concerned. Though if it was anything similar wouldn't I be called in for a face to face interview?0

Sounds like a routine check up to see if your getting the right amount of benefits.
Have you had any changes of circumstances ?

My wife's changed her job. She's gone from a set 16 hour a week job to a new job. It's a nil hour job which she's doing more than 16 hours per week. But I presumed/assumed my ESA automatically changed if our home income changed, it as done previously.
I'm in ESA support group.0 -
Are you sure you're claiming Contributions based ESA? If you're 100% sure then your wife working will not affect this.
If any part of your ESA is Income Related then your wife working will affect the amount you're entitled to.
Contributions based ESA is £111.65 per week, is this the amount you're receiving?0 -
Sorry my mistake. It is income related and not contribution.0

I see that from a previous thread you were claiming ESA and your wife was added to your claim? Did you report the changes when she started working?

Hi
I received a letter titled
Notice of a compliance telephone interview, and that someone will ring me on a set date. Does anyone know if a telephone interview is just to check what benefits I’m getting or if it’s something serious.
It could be either but no one here can tell you for sure. Ring the number on the letter and they may give you some idea.0 -

The current trend is to conduct compliance interviews by phone rather than face to face so you can not read anything into the fact it is by phone.0 -

How may hours per week is your wife working? If she is working 24h/week or more then you are no longer entitled to claim income-related ESA and your claim should have closed. Make sure to tell the compliance officer your wife's hours have changed and they will be able to advise you appropriately.0
