NEWS: Gambling on credit cards to be banned

I racked up nearly £25k on credit cards due to a gambling problem over about 7-8 years. I won’t go into detail as to how/why or the circumstances that led to it, because certain posters here do not deserve such a detailed and personal response.
I welcome this change because I know for a fact I wouldn’t have got in so deep and spent so long in the grip of it if I hadn’t been able to use credit to gamble online.0 -
Sounds good to me - I do gamble occasionally, and really shouldn't as I neither have the money to throw away nor have any luck.
However I do know somebody who got into loads of gambling debt and managed to get it all written off with the help of the local CAB (cannot remember the name, but they had to wait a year and then all the debt was written off). They have since now opened up a credit card account (I don't even understand how) and then used that for gambling ... and got into loads of gambling debt.
Can only see this move as a positive from my prespective.0 -
should people who are not financially disciplined have credit cards or current account overdrafts ?0
