My 4k tv

Ive just ordered an LG 4k TV. I have a SkyQ box but no HD subscription as yet. I generally record most programmes on Sky box but would I get BBC ITV hd channels through the TV itself? And what about Netlix & Prime?

if its a Smart TV it'll most likely have Prime and Netflix on it as apps.

As for ITV HD you may be able to get it through Freeview, if not when you add HD to your SkyQ package it'll appear on there.

Another question. My present LG model, when I set it up, I connected the sky box first and everything just automatically set up first time. However, when I try to access the TV only ( using the tv remote rather than sky remote) it tells me the tv is not tuned in. I try to tune it in but nothing happens. Im guessing its something to do with the choice of antenna but i didnt want to change it in case it messed up my sky connection. Should I tune the tv in first BEFORE. I connect the sky box?

It shouldn't make any difference which order you tune in the TV and connect the Sky box.

You will only be able to tune in the TV and watch channels separately from the Sky box if your TV has a correctly set-up aerial connected. Once you have connected the aerial, you should be able to get the TV to auto-tune itself.

Yes, you've almost certainly got a Freeview HD tuner in the TV, so you will, with an aerial. No recording though.

Extremely likely but you need to check BEFORE you buy that a TV has the apps available that you want.

Shouldn't matter. Make sure the aerial is plugged into the right place before you switch the TV on. They usually start a setup programme, tuning in, connecting to WiFi etc, when you first switch on. Leaving the Sky Q box switched off for this might be a good idea, but just so as not to confuse yourself!

First check the condition of your aerial and it's connections if you haven't been using it regularly.

Bear in mind that you can still get these channels through your Q Sky decoder without a HD subscription, so you may not actually need your aerial. Unless you are thinking of cancelling Sky?

Even in the unlikely event that the new TV doesn't have these Apps as standard, you can purchase a Firestick to easily obtain these services. You will, of course, need an internet connection.

LG TVs have buttons on the remote for Amazon prime and Netflix so easy to use

Recording of Freeview possible if you use a usb hard drive.

My LG is only set up for the sky box , I skipped the aerial connection and set up.

If your LG is like mine select settings on the remote, scroll down to all settings/programmes/tune.
I don't have Sky but they added Netflix to one of their offerings a few weeks back so it should appear on the Sky Q menu.
