Car Insurance Cancelled Wrongly!! Help!!!

My partner had his car insurance cancelled with Wise Driving. They wanted proof of his no claims discount, which he emailed to them the day before it was due. He then got an email whilst in work, days later, saying that his policy had been cancelled. He called them and they said that although they received the email, the system did not process it before the deadline and there was nothing they could do.
He then had to pay a cancellation fee and now has to admit that he has had a policy cancelled which has made his insurance three times as expensive.
Surely we shouldn’t be punished because their system was slow? The company was no help at all. Who else should we contact?

Write a report with a timeline, detailing exactly what happened and when with times, dates, details and as much proof as possible.
State have done everything possible to comply with the company's demands and consider it has been their delayed response which is the cause of the problem and no blame should be attached to you.
