Halifax "platinum" credit card

I've one of these cards and have just been sent new T&Cs. Amazed to see foreign cash charges of 7.95%, and UK cash charges of 5%. And this from the company that issues the Clarity card.
I've been taking this abroad just in case the Visa network breaks down (which did happen to me a few years back when abroad) but I think I'll have to get a different card for back-up now.

Clarity card Ts&Cs changing as well - charge on non sterling purchases. Do they think people wont notice (until they get their first statement post changes) ?

    Are you serious?

Post a link to whatever made you think that please, or type out the part of whatever you read that tells you that.

I am almost certain that you are completely wrong.

I assume (maybe I shouldn't) that you know to pay off the bill each month in full to avoid interest?

Shock horror. Halifax has a range of different cards for different situations, like just about every other bank.

Take the hint then; don't use that card for travel, apply for a Clarity card (or one of several alternatives often recommended on here), and use that as your back-up to 'the Visa network' (whatever that means).

If you want a Visa (debit) card for travelling have a look at Bo - the app-only bank from RBS
