Simple question

The thread title says , simple question

You have now realised that this topic is not simple

You have also realised you have made far too many assumptions and been on a desert island for several years , but here on the mainland harsh truths are prevalent

It's a complicated topic , even for lawyers and politicians , but what you have to realise is that these companies are out to make life difficult for the unwary and that they have learned it's more profitable to operate on the fringes of the law

So they find ways to sc@m people by using the laws , or lack of them

But there is no doubt that a bilker should pay , in order to teach them a lesson , same as if they were speeding and were caught

    Welcome to our world

To answer your simple question , no it's not possible to pay the default tariff once it's gone to a debt collector , or to a court

Thank you for answering my simple question.

I do not 'live on a desert island' - see another slight of character.

I work 24/7 and park legitimately so was just not aware that people regularly challenge these things and win. Although for the life of me I do not see with what means I could challenge this parking charge, other than endless letters back and forth to play the game and a constant niggling worry that it might go to court, and hanging over our heads for months, and in the end might have some knock on effect for future prospects for my son for unpaid debts etc. At the end of the day I am afraid we would rather pay £160 and get this off our hands than go through the above, when at the end of the day we don't dispute that he should have paid.

Again I will say, if the fines / charges / punishment whatever you want to call it were not so high then no-one would adhere to any regs.

PLEASE CAN NO-ONE RESPOND ANYMORE. I WOULD LIKE TO CLOSE THIS THREAD. AND I AM NEVER GOING TO ASK ANYTHING ON MONEY SAVING EXPERT AGAIN. AND WILL NOT BE COMING BACK TO THIS POST ANYMORE.

Dearie me , so prickly at any comments , even if they are based on your replies , funny how you can make comments and we can't

My point was that this topic is regularly on tv , in the papers , on social media , on websites and the internet yet you claim no knowledge despite not living on a desert island !! How you have avoided seeing any of it beggars belief , especially as it touches most people's lives even if through a friend or relative

How do you think we all ended up here ?

Plus I answered your simple question too

Now you plan to go back to your sheltered life by never coming here again ! How stupid is that ?? Can you not see that you are the architect of your lack of knowledge ?

You learn from your mistakes , you ask questions of those 'know it all's ' that know more than you do in order to broaden your knowledge and expertise

If you think your case is bad , how about this naive person who has been taken to the cleaners for doing nothing about court papers ?

If you really want to compare the"abuse" you think you have received on here with real abuse try phoning the debt collector they will give you real abuse.

What exactly do you think happens to the money these firms actually scam out of people? Clue it does not go towards funding the NHS or any other just cause.

The PCN arm of NCP and all PPC's relies on people making mistakes, or not conforming to their made up rules, some have even been caught falsifying photos, timings etc to catch people out as they only make money this way.

Can't understand why you have ended up so offended by people giving you (free) help which is basically all you asked for.
