Advice for car finance taken out frauduently

We have our suspisions as the company was just my partner and another person. The company didn't run for long due the suspisions so my partner had it dissolved and set up on his own.0

The solicitor has included a guarantor and indemnity form that shows the wrong address, wrong DOB and two (not matching) wrong signatures. There are no dates on the forms nor bank details. However, both the solicitor and finance company state they have a copy of my partners driving licence. Although, if this was the case surely all the above info would be correct?
Was finance taken before company was dissolved or while it was still alive? It may not necessary be the other director/shareholder from company, just someone using company details fraudulently. Actually fraudster wasn't very good, since he/she could have obtained correct details from Companies House.
I'm sure you can prove it was fraud and you are not responsible for it. Don't worry too much, it won't help with anything.0 -
Thank you for your response. Exactly what I thought about the driving licence and incorrect info. We've never heard of the address they've used and when we checked online it's a property that's on the market for sale about 150 miles away. We don't know if the finance was taken out when the company was still live as there are no dates on the indemnifier, or on anything for that matter.0

It's possible that the fraudster got hold of your driving licence details then applied to the DVLA for a change of address, using the property mentioned above as their new one.
They need a few more details to make this change (such as National insurance number and passport details (I think) but if they managed to get hold of these, this is what may have happened.
It might be worth giving the DVLA a call just to make sure that this hasn't occurred.0 -

And that was who...?
Are you absolutely sure nobody could have passed it on between it being legitimately provided and it ending up in the hands of the fraudsters?
Any miffed creditors, perhaps, of the dissolved business that might have had a copy for ID purposes...?
How do you expect me to know who committed the offence?
If they've taken a licence for ID you'd hope they saw the original.0 -

Very good advice this. I second asking the DVLA.0 -

Then, of course, there's if I use it to collect a parcel at the PO, and the person behind the counter takes it away while they find the parcel... Who knows if they've taken a copy?0
