Mark1966 - Thanks for taking the time to recommend ecasher. I'm a member of more than 17 sites the ones I mentioned are those I do on a daily basis. I don't have a problem with 50% cashback sites however I only use them if they have extra ways to boost my balance i.e. host competitions, pay for reviews etc.

Victoria Meldrew - Sorry to hear Cascadecompare has stopped tracking for you. The only thing I can suggest is use the contact us form on Chief/Cascade or leave a message in the forum. Chief/Cascade own cascadecompare so should be able to work out what the problem is. Don't know if you will get a reply though as the site's owners don't appear to be on the ball.

Chief/Cascade - Kayak, SYC & Cashillion clicks weren't included in today's update.
  • Hi aspella
I've contacted Chief via the message option and this time also by direct e-mail as I've never yet had a reply from any of the messages I've sent which I think is very bad. What is the point of offering users the facility to send a message if it is never responded to? Can I ask what kinds of things you put in for your search on Cascade Compare? I try to pick items I think it will find eg. kettle; toaster; laptop; lcd tv etc. etc. All those 6ps I'm missing is making me very cross.

Sunshine12 - Beeniecat :T seems to have answered all your questions, however I'll leave my two pennies worth.

Q1. I use Internet Explorer (blue e icon) and have Java Plug-in enabled I've never received the error message regarding scripts when using Cashillion/SYC/WMC however I have noticed on some that a pop up is prevented from being opened as I have pops up blocked. Cashillion/SYC & WMC clicks are tracking okay for me. However as mentioned before Cashillion/SYC have not been updated on Chief/Cascade since the beginning of April.
Q2. No problems with Fatcheese here transactions updated up to 22nd April - exc. Kayak only updated up to 20th April. Fatcheese was down yesterday afternoon - Cashillion, SYC & WMC were up and down all day yesterday across all cashback sites.
Q3. Quite a few people have had problems getting Fatcheese to remember them - the cookie period is currently only for 24 hours.
Fatcheese admin posted the following on the forum.
"Yep, I know there's an issue there. I think i may have only set the cookie period to a short number of seconds. At the moment it should be 24 hours. Something I wanted to try out as it ensures better tracking. Let me know if this is an issue for you guys and I'll change it to something longer."
Q4. Superbingo page only comes up on SYC Savings & SYC Web Nation. Wait for the page to load then close the page.
Q5. If a no purchase offer sends you an activation link via email then you must click on it otherwise it might track but it won't be confirmed. The activation link is to prevent people using false email addresses.

The error about the script is caused by JavaScript - not Java. They are two completely different things. JavaScript is usually enabled. Don't use Internet Explorer so can't remember how to check if it is enabled.

I'm going to email Fatcheese and ask if they can extend the cookie time - hopefully to something indefinite like most sites.

I search for all type of things:
    • Kettle and click through to M&S
    • Diamond ring click through to DiamondGeezer
    • Dog food click through to Zooplus
    • Washing machine click through to Sainsbury's Appliances.
    • Ink cartridges click through to Inkprices
    • Scanner click through to Misco
    • Bed click through to Elegant furniture, Bedmonster
    • Desk click through to Pinesolutions.
    • Vase click through to Marshallwards
I've had a few problems recently with Cascadecompare myself, when I click through to the merchant it comes up with internet error HTTP 500, I refresh the page or click on another merchant and it solves the problem and still tracks okay.

I've never had a reply to PMs I've sent to Shelly so I resorted to the forum when I had a problem and it was soon sorted out. Shelly & Rick have always had a communication problem as far as I'm concerned. Don't know why they set up a message board they never use it to let members know there are delays in updates, payments, confirmations etc. Sorry for my little rant. :o

Does Cascadecompare track for you on any other cashback sites?
Does someone else use the same computer as you to do clicks on Chief/Cascade?

Thanks BruceyBonus not very techie. I did a search and came across the following

How do I enable JavaScript in my browser?

    Internet Explorer (6.0)
    1. Select 'Tools' from the top menu
    2. Choose 'Internet Options'
    3. Click on the 'Security' tab
    4. Click on 'Custom Level'
    5. Scroll down until you see section labled 'Scripting'
    6. Under 'Active Scripting', select 'Enable' and click OK
It appears that I have got JavaScript enabled which is why I'm not getting the error regarding scripts. Sunshine12 - if you follow the above instructions you will be able to fix the problem.
  • Hi aspella
Thanks for your prompt reply - you really are so helpful to us newbies. Yes CC tracks for me on the other sites I use and no-one else uses this computer to visit cashback sites. Guess I'll just have to accept it as one of life's mysteries.

I've just tried SYC in Internet Explorer and have received that error, even with JavaScript enabled. Just seems like bad coding in their website, but doesn't look to me like it would affect tracking.

Thanks Brucey, i guess Sunshine would be better off using Firefox, i've never had any problems with the clicks so far, though i'm still new at it.
