Ppc send SAR for wrong person

Bit of a wierd one. I suppose it demonstrates they are not fit to retain people's data.
They have sent a response to my subject access request but have returned information regarding an unconnected person. Only thing they have in common with me is a surname.
I should report this to the data protection commissioner ? Maybe I should let the other "subject" know as well.

    Yes to all above.

Which PPC - important, because one or two of them have 'form' and have been reported to the ICO, if one of these, you adding to the pot will certainly pile on the pressure on them.

Encourage the other person to make a similar complaint.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

    Whos car park is it?

Depending upon the above, I would pull the landowner in, as agent they will be jointly and severally liable for the actions of their agents.
If its a corporation of some sort then they should have a legal team that should have understood the risk in taking on a PPC.
most of the time this is ignored by the site owners

Send a copy to the other person first, and encourage them to report the parking firm to the Information Commissioner and the DVLA, and to get on this forum.

Give them your phone number and email and get together.

Then report them to the DVLA and the ICO, online. This can see PCNs cancelled.

Yes to telling the other victim, complaints to the DVLA and ICO, plus a complaint to your MP about this unregulated scam should also be made.

Tell the other person to come here for help if they haven't already.

If this is a BPA member a complaint to the above named organisations will result in the ticket being dropped faster than you can say hot potato

Make sure the DVLA & ICO hear about this, but start with the other victim, this week, first.

If they have sent a SAR I do wonder if they are already here.
