Conclusion...filed under b1n, if I get a reminder file it in the same place.
No obligation to give the info and no action from lloyds.
For the record my account already has the box ticked for uk tax residency.

What address was the information to be sent back to or was it a phone number to call?

Seems an odd letter for anyone other than Lloyds to send you and I'd do a bit more digging before just binning any further reminder. Maybe do some googling and check whether the address/phone number is valid for Lloyds. If it is valid, then what benefit would anyone other than Lloyds get from this?

Maybe this Lloyds letter is from a different area of the banking group than your personal bank account, or maybe the person you talked to had got it wrong. So just binning the reminders could cause you issues if it really did come from them - and yes you might get some compensation if the branch was mistaken about this and it really had come from them, but I personally would rather not have the aggravation of having to deal with a closed account which is what you could potentially end up with.

PS if your account does have UK status on it then you must have given them that information already, so why do you seem to be so unwilling to do so now - assuming this really had come from Lloyds?

Next instalment, a few months from now: post from you know who saying "Lloyds are closing all my accounts and I haven't done anything. Is this even legal / can they do this / has this happened to anyone else"

I object to giving information they already have.
Why would I need to send a letter if the information is already given on my account?
There was no phone number on the letter and just a PO box to send to.
There was a website to refer to but this was stamped over with a message about getting a braille version of the letter which made the website unreadable.

It annoys me that I have to give information that they clearly don't need.
Recently bought a new TV and you can't just pay cash and walk out, they need details to make sure you are paying the BBC tax.
May be I'm just too old.

Recently?! This hasn't been a requirement since June 2013!
