What other information would you give just because someone asks?
Will post back in a few hours after taking the letter in to the branch.
Have noticed that there is no phone number on the letter and an area that is supposed to carry a website for more info has been stamped over with info about getting a braille version, therefore no contact details at all.

Conclusion...filed under b1n, if I get a reminder file it in the same place.
No obligation to give the info and no action from lloyds.
For the record my account already has the box ticked for uk tax residency.

Awe what a pity you haven't told us how you gave them a piece of your mind this morning in Branch.

Why would I do that, they were really helpful. The policy is not theirs.

I notice your heading mentions CRS, Common Reporting Standard. If that's what your letter is about, look it up.

No matter where in the world your have, or open, a bank account, you will be be sent the form to fill sooner or later. The deadline for all banks globally to collect and report the info was around middle of last year I believe, in theory at least.

There's just an outside chance that a person's tax residency might change over a period of 20 years, is there not?

    Of course.

KYC all the way. Even though you work for the company.

Right hand & left hand in perfect harmony :rotfl:

This was just to show the OP that they are not alone.

    As to the TV purchase..
The Wireless Telegraphy Act of 1967 (as amended) has been repealed, meaning that from 25 June 2013 onwards you no longer need to send us customer name and address details when you sell or rent out TV equipment. This also means your business no longer has to keep sales records to comply with the law on TV Licensing.

Some people don't have much going on in their lives. Letters like this provide a talking point for weeks. Gives them a chance to get angry for no reason whatsoever.

My OH had similar letter from Lloyds but not from any other banks we use:D. Seemed pointless as it was asking for information they already had, a point I raised. But she completed it as it simply wasn't worth the effort of not so doing.

Lloyds are obviously one step ahead of you and realise that tax residency can change.
