Hmm, yes its in the T+Cs "no car covered if used for business use or as part of your employment". So MY FAULT.
But, surely, by that definition, a LOT of people who might have class 1 business insurance because they might drive to a different office in work ONCE a year are totally uncovered.
I'm more annoyed that I actually spoke to a broker (rather than online about this) and remember having a discussion about what my wife did for a living.
£270 and I can never ever claim. YES my fault but seems a bit unfair.
Especially when people can claim thousands for PPI when that was in the t+cs yet I get sold a policy, tell the broker, he doesnt mention it for whatever reason and I dont read the t+Cs!

Possibly, but then if they actually read and understand what levels of cover are on offer and which is the most suitable for their situation (including any reasonably anticipated eventualities), they'd select the right level of cover and not plump for the cheapest.0 -
Does that include commuting?!0

Do you mean it should have been insured for commuting or bussiness insurance?

Thanks for that. I never said that it wasn't my fault for not reading the t+cs properly.
As I said, why didn't PPI claimants read the t+cs?0 -
Yes, many people are using their car for 'business' but oblivious they are not covered.
It only becomes an issue when involved in an accident.0 -
Why are you banging on about PPI?0

Domestic insure will cover your commute to from work, even if that's in a different office. Your only need business insurance to use it for business purposes, delivering, etc

That's not correct, if you drive to work at office A, drive to office B during that day then go home. You'd need business insurance.0 -

So take it up with the broker for miss-advice/selling (which is what PPI was about. NOT T/C)
For £270 it would be better not to claim.. Would lead to far for costs in the coming years for a claim.Life in the slow lane0 -
