I didn't mean physically allocated, I haven't used a claims company. I just meant that my 50% was accepted so surely the other 50% has already been legally agreed that he is owed even if technically he didn't claim with me at the time. I have said he is 100% likely to get nothing if he doesn't ask.... It is definitely not guaranteed but worth a try.Compers challenge 2024 wins!!!!.... Oct £60... £10 free spins, £50 palm, m&m pouch0

This is interesting as I used a company due to the time before the deadline (and I don't have a problem with this, I could have pulled my finger out and didn't). As a result of which I had a letter from Barclays stating that a claim on an old account had been settled in 2015. I was not aware of this and called them for clarification. It appears my ex-husband made a claim on our joint account and they paid everything to him. The guy on the phone asked if I had received anything from my ex, which I had not. He said they would have to reopen the claim in regards to my request and if they then paid out to me, he would then owe the money to them. I can hear my name being mud already.
I am really surprised that they appear to have paid the claim in full to my ex, when this is different to what you have found.Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0 -
They’ll likely not chase him as it’s effectively their fault for not checking. They should have sought both signatures for a joint account.
You’ll likely just get a 50% payouthelpful tips
it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
their - 'owned by them'
they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)0 -
Unless of course the have a ‘second signature’, wouldn’t be the first time someone signed in behalf of he joint account holder0

how do i post on this group? New to this12 years ago we (myself and my partner) took out 2 loans in a joint account, as we approached august i though i would try and see whether we were due our ppi back as ppi was never mentioned and for the second loan my partner had lost his job, so was useless.
so i filled in the forms but only put my name on it, ive received a 2 letters for both the loans ppi and have got a 50% refund + interest (50% as i am only entitled to 1/2 of the refund) but as the deadline has ended does that mean he cant claim his 1/2? even though the bank knows he is entitled to it.0 -

just thought i would update, we had a positive outcome on this! last week after a few letters, a phone call, some proof of identity sent off, we eventually received my partners half of the ppi! this was after a letter saying he applied after the deadline so was not able to claim, i rang and spoke to someone and after a few weeks received another letter giving him an offer!
so it was worth the try in the end!
