Excellent hay boxing, glad it worked well!

Can you do your mending to a nice film or audio book?

@Cheery_Daff That's always the plan, but it still doesn't encourage me to do it! I want to get caught up with All Creatures Great and Small soon so I can watch the new series, so maybe I'll get it done then!

I've actually hidden my mending pile in the back of the linen cupboard so I don't have to look at it, although I'd feel really virtuous if I sat down with a box-set playing & just did it!

I ripped a hole in the top I'm wearing today, and have several other things that need mending - I propose we set a joint MSE mending evening and do it in a companionable way together 😁

    How about tomorrow?!

Oooh I hear you on the mending. I have so many things sitting there. I could easily do it in front of the tv but don’t. An MSE mending evening definitely sounds like a good plan!
  • I’ve been vegan for almost 7 years now and as much as I love the exciting convenience foods, I don’t think you can beat a simple lentil stew.

Onion, garlic, celery, carrots and lentils in a pan with herbs, stock and a tin of tomatoes. Left to simmer for as long as possible and served with mashed potato or crusty bread. So affordable and straight forward to make.

Re the oat milk I have mine delivered by the milk man. It’s certainly not cheap though but I allow it as one of my few luxuries in life 😂

    Hi @sunshineli
I just made that lentil stew but added frozen peas into it and a bit of mild chilli powder, served with mash and veg - it's really lovely :) Enough for tomorrow too
    thank you!

    Morning all,
Sorry I've been MIA this week. Just busy with work at the moment.

Finance wise I'm over spending this month. I know I am but there is no way around certain events I have planned. Thankfully I can borrow from next month to cover it, but obviously I would rather not have to.

With the weather getting cooler, I tried on my heated hoodie the other day but I was too warm  :D. This does bode well for winter!

With being so busy I have reverted to my previous veggie diet. I'm barely food planning at all these last couple of weeks, and I just need meals I know and can keep to a low budget right now. I've not given up on veganism - it's still a really positive move I can make towards combating climate change - I'm just putting it on pause for right now.

I've still not done any mending  :D. I'm hoping I'll might have time this weekend. I've got a few things planned, but hopefully I'll have time to sit down on front of the TV and mend a few bits as well.

With things being so busy my anxiety has been raising its horrible head as well. Even though I'm not actively being very frugal right now, it is a great comfort that at least the basics are automatically covered these days. I record all I'm spending so I know where I am, and all my plugs are off etc, etc.

I hope you all have brilliant weekend. An MSE mending party sounds fun @Cheery_Daff
