O2 call forward and call waiting error

Hi, My partner and I are on an identical O2 sim only monthly plan (the exact same plan £20 p/m both taken out in November). I PACed in from EE, she PACed in from Three Mobile.

The problem is her call waiting, call forwarding etc will simply not work for my partner, every time we access the menu (Or use the T ** 21 * phone number # SEND) It says, "network error"

Ive tried her sim in my phone, it still wont work, but when I try my sim in her phone diverts activate and cancel fine, so I know its not the handset.

O2 have been informed of this and after 4 weeks they are still insisting its a handset problem, despite telling them its not as we have swapped sims/handsets as above.

Any ideas my missus really needs call waiting as she takes long calls and has no idea if anyone else is trying to reach her.

Thanks for any help

The only thing I can think of is that the PAC process from Three has somehow not completed properly, and I fear she may have to have a new phone number which she really doesnt want.

I had a similar problem when I joined O2 and the upshot is that the user cannot set up call forwarding (I don't know about call waiting as I never tested it) when 4G/WiFi calling are enabled.

You can enable 4G+WiFi calling in your my O2 account but you can't disable them without contacting them via phone or online chat.

The problem you will face is that the CS rep will want to run through their script and ask you to try all sorts of silly things and very few of them probably know about this issue!

You could just try asking them to try it, I suppose.
  • Finally got it sorted today, but it seems you need to be abroad. I was in Budapest this, and went to the call forwarding menu and set all the diverts and they work a treat, and still work fine when back in the UK.

So O2, it is most definitely your problem not my phone as you keep saying!!! Sort your s%&t out!!!!
