Resovecall chasing 9/10 year old debt

Similar situation here, I received a letter in Feb from Resolvecall acting on behalf of Arrow Reconnect about an old egg debt from 10 plus years ago, saying they would send an agent to my house to discuss the debt. I wrote and said that I did not acknowledge the debt as is statute barred and all correspondence should be in writing, I would deem doorstep contact or phone contact harassment. Received a reply saying they acknowledged my letter and have passed it back to Arrow and I would not hear from them again but that Arrow may contact me or send my details to another collection agency. Question though, if they do contact me again what are my options, bit worried that they could start CCJ procedings without telling me. Advice gratefully received.0

Advice gratefully received. The legal process they must follow precludes that from happening.Under civil procedure rules they must send you a letter before action, to your current address, are you certain of your statute barred defence ?If so send a letter to Arrow asking them to confirm if they have acknowledged this fact or not, as they should confirm to you the debt is statute barred, and remove the account from there systems, under no circumstances just leave this alone, you should pursue this to its outcome.

Thank you for the advice. I do believe it is statute barred as I have paper copies of my old credit reports from 2014 (I was in a pretty dire state then and was trying to clear up my debt- apart from this one which appeared out of the blue I am now debt free having finished my last CCJ in Jan 2020 and that drops off my file in Jan 2021) which shows the egg loan on it with the first time a default was placed on the file in 2010 but can't find any letters from anyone saying the debt had passed on, not paid a penny to the account in all that time, of course on checking my file regularly it dropped off my file years ago. So should I send them the same letter I sent to resolvecall saying it is statute barred and for them to prove it? should I ask for the CCA? or anything else? Oh yes, I have been in the same house for more than 30years so would have noticed if any letters, other CCJ would have appeared at the house.0

Just stick to the one argument, you have informed them the debt is statute barred, you now require them to confirm this, and that the matter is now closed, which they should do under FCA rules, if you ignore it now, a little way down the line someone else will come trying to collect on it, as Arrow will have likely sold the debt on.

Resolvecall will send a doorstep agent for any amount. Had a hand written card through the letterbox once from them for an old statute barred Cap 1 debt for less than £200. No idea what commission percentage the agent gets!0

Thank you so much. I'll get that done now.0

Thankyou Sourcrates for the advice, I received a letter from Arrow stating that the debt was statute barred and that their records have been amended accordingly and that I will not be receiving any further communication from them. I've put the letter in the filing cabinet just in case. Cannot thankyou enough it is a weight off my mind.2
