Nationwide BS login Difficulty

Yes, I had the email on 16 October late afternoon with the above info and the fact that the online T&C were changing at the end of November.I received an email on 19th Oct 2019 @16:00 hrs from Nationwide entitled "The way you log in to our Internet bank is changing"
It went into considerable detail about the changes to the login procedure, and the options available to you.
To make sure sure contact details were uptodate and if you could not use a card reader or mobile to get in touch.
So it was all flagged up and advised to users two months in advance...
Still, I haven't changed over yet - this is the splash screen I get, mentioned in my earlier post:

The "No - remind me next time" option, works every time to get the options to log in using memorable data.
If you already selected Yes (just go to login and don't show me this again) and have selected 'remember me' then perhaps you can't go back to this state. You could try clearing cookies.
As an aside, I do use the mobile app version if I'm on mobile - the above taken via a browser was just an easy way of screenshotting what I was talking about

I selected email when I opened the account, by ticking a box, and the last few times I've logged on I haven't required an OTC at all.Mobiles are becoming more essential. Marcus now require one to receive a one-time-code each time.
The alternative is to get it by email by.... phoning up to request! Hardly an online acount then......Eco Miser

Strange. I don't get the splash screen, but I get a yellow box above the login options (which still include Memorable Data for me) notifying me about the forthcoming changes.
Odd how various groups of customers are seeing different variations of the login procedure.0 -
No, doesn't work for me! I tried clearing all the Nationwide.co.uk cookies and I still see only the mobile & card-reader options.bowlhead99 wrote: »If you already selected Yes (just go to login and don't show me this again) and have selected 'remember me' then perhaps you can't go back to this state. I've never needed my mobile to do anything with Marcus. They insisted I provide my mobile number when I applied, but they've never used it for anything. OTPs come by email.I selected email when I opened the account, by ticking a box, and the last few times I've logged on I haven't required an OTC at all.0 -
Good heavens! That was yesterday!
OK, so I deleted all the cookies related to nationwide and loaded that URL into my browser. It prompted me for my UserId and Date-of-Birth; on entering the data correctly, only the mobilephone and card-reader options were visible (ie no option for entering memorable data). This is precisely the path that would be followed when cookies have been deleted or the "Remember Me" is not ticked - the userid has been forgotten and has to be re-entered.
Looking at the process that the system follows, it seems that the user's settings which exist on the Nationwide's servers in Swindon (or wherever) will be checked when the userid and DoB are sent: - entering a false userid/DoB combination results in an error message, so some interaction with the central data-base for user identity must take place. The data returned by the data-base from that UserId/DoB check may include a setting which blocks the option of logging-in by memorable data, for example, the return message could include either "NoMatch" (display error message) or "StandardLogin" (display login web-page for mobilephone & card-reader confirmation) or "LegacyLogin" (display login web-page for all three options for confirmation including memorable information).
But that's just my speculation.0
