So I went through one of the deals on BU before xmas to get BT fibre for £29.99 month iirc, unfortunately it appears to have dropped off the site now I cant find it. Well its gone live and BT's have given me a bill of £44.49 for line + BB a bit more than advertised!

Rather annoyed at this to be honest who do I speak to BT direct or Broadband Unbundled? No sign of the reward card etc I was promised either

n.b. BT applied a "special offer discount" of £8.00 otherwise it would have been £52.49

n.n.b. phoned BT, they're going to "raise a query" if I don't hear back by monday I have to phone them again. Oh joy.

What sspeed ,the 49Mb is sill on there,I am paying £44.49 but i am out of contract just cannot decide where to move to.
  • Well I raised a complaint called again today and they're aware of the issue and a "very helpful young man" says he's going to call me back in a day or two with hopefully some good news and get it sorted out. Which will probably save me from having to cancel the contract and re-take one out again (its still within the 2 week cooling off period).

So the moral of the this tale is... as soon as you go through with the switching provider process check the emails you receive very carefully especially the ones from the new provider stating exactly how much you're paying and what contract you're on - don't assume everything went through smoothly. Its much easier to sort things out before the switch as you're on a very short deadline after its gone through if they don't simply drag their heels completely -

(£70 reward card is... possibly gone down the swannee but at the end of day if I get my monthly bills halved and still have a working BB service I'll settle for that)
