Mazda & Dealership will not honour New Car Agreement

The difference in "deposit contribution" is not money coming from the dealership - it's money coming from Mazda UK.
I doubt the dealer's margin on the car covers the £2,750 difference.0 -
The dealership *should* have been aware that the car wouldn't have been eligible for that offer when they accepted the order and *should* have pointed this out to you.
I don't know what you can do about it now though.0 -
If you are happy with your current car I would be inclined to keep it. They don't want to be stuck with a car they can't sell and you don't want to pay more than you were told.
New car sales are currently at a seven year low. If they want to lose another by not honouring their deal I would let them.0 -
There are lots of dealerships trying to sell cars. Find another deal and Don’t cause yourself stress and anguish over this one !0

You are not the first to suffer this.
A few companies work on the premise the discount/deposit contribution/0% finance is on car registered by a certain date. Others on the date they are ordered.
It's to try and push sales of cars already built and in stock or suffer from badly swinging exchange rates.
We had a similar problem when the Mrs ordered a Suzuki and in the mean time Suzuki increased their prices by around 12%. That particular car is still sat in the local showroom.
It's the importer, Mazda UK that have pulled the rug on the deposit contribution, the dealer who is likely a franchise can't get this payment from them as they've now reduced it.
It's a bit unfair as I'm positive they wouldn't tell you in the deposit contribution went up, but this is how they do their business.
I would contact Mazda UK and open up a complaint, give them a week or so to respond before you cancel the order, I would also do the same with the dealer as both are likely to lose a customer.
If you really don't want to lose out on the car, perhaps suggest all three parties could negotiate the difference, ie the dealer and importer split the loss, not you.
You have written proof it they that they have cancelled the contract, so your deposit should be returned without any problems if you cancel if you all can't come to an arrangement.0 -

The car exists, of course, and is going to be in the country. Mazda's blog post I posted says the ordering dealer has a fortnight from its arrival in Zeebrugge to confirm they want it, before it's made available to other dealers. So there is potential to get hold of it still, as it may be a spec they wouldn't have as a car for stock.0 -
...
It's now too late to order another car before my pcp ends and I may well have to buy my current car as a result because I cannot be without a car. ...
There are plenty of dealers up and down the country with new cars in stock (or in stock in their dealer group). I'm sure something can be sorted by the end of the month if you move quickly. I've even heard of dealers lending/hiring one of their used stock cars out for a week or two if the financing can't quite be sorted in time.
Or you could buy your current car. You can then use it as a trade-in against something else at a time to suit you.
Or just return your current car and buy a banger, or rent something for a few weeks?0 -
You don't say what model you want, but this seems a decent offer?

Certainly a question to ask them if going ahead. It simply may be the last of a batch that were pre-registered.
They certainly have at least one other https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2019100730542160
