Booking flights in foreign currency

Hi,
I'm looking to fly to Prague during the February half term, flying with Easyjet and returning with Jet2 but I'm a little confused with Jet2s booking system and when I rang was just told that it's their currency rate.

When I looked to book a round trip and the price shows in pound the price per person is £74, making it £148 for the both of us.

When I try to book it one way, it shows in Czech Koruna at 2284 or 4568 for us both. When converting this online I get £153, which is similar.

However, when I select change currency to pay in pounds on Jet2 this increases to £180.

Can I opt to pay in the Czech Koruna? Would I be charged the usual conversion rate or would I still get charged Jet2's £180?

I'm not sure how it works because I've never booked two separate flights before!
Any help would be appreciated!

See if it lets you pay in Czech koruna: if you do this, make sure you are using an appropriate card so that you don't get stung on the exchange rate. You may find that they do not allow this (sometimes it converts at the last moment to the currency of your card), in which case you might do better to use Easyjet for both parts of your journey.

.......... sometimes it converts at the last moment to the currency of your card

This happened to me ages ago with Ryanair
Paid in Euros using my 'best rate' card but it still used R/A's exchange rate and charged me in Sterling :(

On Ryanair you have to be careful to opt out of letting them convert your pounds, when the flight is from elsewhere and priced in that currency.

With easyJet you can pay in any currency and check which is best before actually paying.

It may be similar to Ryanair with Jet2, I've no experience. In this case you need to pay in koruna with a fee-free card, in order to avoid paying them the extra for the conversion.

You can pay in a foreign currency on Jet2's website. Like most airlines they charge you in the currency of the departing airport hence Czech Kuna for a one way Prague-UK

You said you changed the currency to GBP. Of course Jet2 are happy to charge you in £, but they convert it at a rate favourable to them so your 4568 Kuna becomes £180 rather than the £155ish it should be. An easy £25 for them!

Pay in Kuna. However be advised your bank may charge you a foreign currency fee. Some charge more than others, some cards have no fees at all. Whoever you bank with though, the fee will be far less than the Jet2 rubbish conversion!

When you travel from anywhere in Europe to the UK you could get the price quoted in Euro (or other countries currency). But do not book a return flight. You will need to book outbound and inbound flight separately.

If you get quoted the flight in Euro and you pay using your travel credit card you will pay less.
