No not at all. It was sitting on a pile of house clearance fly tipping. Seemed a shame not to rescue before it rained.Unfortunately the remote was missing. But the Sky card was still present, though sub had expired so no recording facility.

They're not. They're different platforms, and the hardware is completely different (Sky box/Freesat box)
I really doubt it is.
Thge software maybe and of course without the specs noone is going to port one to the other for testing!
Hardware is pretty generic these days.
Or course if you are on about the molded plastic then go ahead! but The chips inside are much the same.0 -

There is one on eBay about 4 miles away - will try to get that.Good stuff. I don't really expect them to be free to be honest.
I bid him a fiver cash but he says he's looking for Twenty.
It's Sky+HD Box DRX890 Box + Wi-Fi Box
Don't know if that means anything to anyone?
I don't really know what the Wi-Fi Box does but no doubt one of you will enlighten me ......0 -

The extra functionality won't be much use in your case as you won't have a Sky subscription, though I'm not certain whether BBC iPlayer may still be available or not..
£20 sounds okay as long as the box is in good condition.0 -

Found another one on Ebay on t'other side of town.
Bid a fiver, won the auction, collected this evening, all plugged in and working fine and .... yes, I can get Quest HD

Yes, I said hardware, not components. They're different 'platforms'. There's confusion between them. You can't have FreeSat on a Sky box, and you can't have freesatfromsky on a FreeSat box.0
