I have a sky HD box but cancelled my subscription with Sky over a year ago. I can confirm that you can watch Quest HD without a subscription, its on channel 144.

And Matt17 gives the correct answer!

    Freesat is not freesatfromsky.

OP, have a look on Freecycle, Facebook Marketplace and Gumtree to find a Sky HD+ box locally instead of wasting money on postage. Under £20 might be possible.

    ...But the differences are minimal.

If Quest HD is a free to view channel then yes you should be able to get it as stated
Only Free To Air channels are available to all

    As title really
I have Freesat from Sky and would like to watch my (failing) football team on Quest
Is Quest HD available with Freesat from Sky?

If you were looking at recording Quest I was going to suggest the Sky Essentials package if your BB was due for renewal and ADSL suited you but their web page has been removed. Strange as it only launched last May.

Another option is to ask Quest (might get a better reply if you ask Sky) on Twitter if they are on Freesat from Sky.

Quest and Quest HD are FTA on satellite. Quest SD since July 2017 and Quest HD since July 2018.

I looked on Freecycle - our 'local' site covering ours and the next town about 15 miles away had only 4 pages in total of stuff on offer, so methinks it's not caught on in this part of the rural sticks!!
There is one on eBay about 4 miles away - will try to get that.

Onwards and upwards and thanks all.

They're not. They're different platforms, and the hardware is completely different (Sky box/Freesat box). The names are confusing enough that they're used wrongly all the time, let's try to keep the separation. Sure, it's the same channel, from the same satellite, I get what you mean, but there's already so much confusion.

Good stuff. I don't really expect them to be free to be honest.

I was referring to the channels received, which is rather the point of this thread. However, I agree they should be differentiated to avoid confusion.

I so wonder how long Sky will continue to support (or offer) "FreeSatFromSky"?

With the (gradual) move to rental Sky Q, there will eventually be no necessity for Sky to provide such a service.
The number of Sky+HDs still in circulation is finite and they will all eventually fail...

We they can be free, all depends on how long you are prepared to wait and on how many of your local Freecycle groups you participate in.

Or you might just find one fly tipped as I did once and not far away.
