Bundled life, critical illness, repayment cover. Sold as if it was part of mortgage or at least essential to purchase with and alongside the mortgage. No suggestion buyer should check for existing cover. Never mentioned, raised or highlighted.

The life assuarnce and CIC are not PPI. So, they would not be included in a PPI complaint anyway. Only the PPI element of the premium is considered in a PPI complaint.

There was a period when life assurance was mandatory. That was allowed and still is today. Although most lenders dropped the mandatory requirement.

Your comment about " No suggestion buyer should check for existing cover. " is wrong. This would have been part of the factfind and recorded as such. It would have been a simple question asked. i.e. "what existing cover do you have?" However, even if it wasn't, it would only impact on your complaint if you actually had cover in place already and continued to pay that. Hypothetical scenarios are never considered in a complaint.

Most people take out mortgage insurances and it is considered best advice to do so. This is why most MPPI complaints fail (including at the FOS).

Unprovable allegations rarely succeed on those points. However, they may succeed on other things. Such as eligibility and having no financial need. So, as it stands, your complaint is very weak on a product type that sees most complaints fail.

if it was mis-sold in the first instance and they gained my trust based on their assertion that I needed this and should have it alongside my mortgage, why would making changes affect this?
Well, I'm assuming the Bank haven't agreed you were mis-sold in the first place and are pointing to the fact that you later made changes to the insurance as evidence that you fully realised and accepted that.

Is this the Bank's Full and Final response?

Can anyone point me to any discussion on the implications of my PPI provider saying that the PPI was "re-sold" every time any changes were made to the cover?
    Many Thanks.

This may well have happened BUT you would have also received a pro forma refund of previous premiums.
