    Yes, very slow.
Applied before 6th January deadline, received the email over a week later on 8th January that the application was accepted, then end of last week received the agreement form and signed and posted it back to them on 28th Jan. Now its a case of waiting for the debit card etc. Was thinking *3 months would easily be long enough to complete a switch for the bonus, but a this rate not so sure now!

*Providing of course they honor the terms of the Switching offer.

Given you have your acc details. Ring them ask for the switching team and start the process.
Or is it possible to do it online?

Starting a switch before a new account is fully operational (cards, online access, etc) is viable if it's a secondary account being switched for a bonus, but not recommended if it's the customer's primary main account where there'd be a possibility of being caught out without access to funds if the switch completes before everything needed has been sent (and tested) - there have been examples of this posted here before....
  • I applied on the deadline day (6th Jan I think it was) and have just received my debit card, pin and cheque book during the last couple of days. No mention of my direct debits and salary payments being switched over to them yet though, so I'll need to give them a ring and also find out how to register for online banking.

still no card but a welcome pack came, theres a link to switch which actualy didn't work but if you go to MS bank home page and click on current accounts the link is there. fill in your details and that gets the switch started, earliest date to switch will be 2 weeks in away, mine is the 14th Feb, I just did it today

That's good to know, thanks very much for the info :T My welcome pack arrived yesterday, along with the leaflet about how to switch (and earn the gift card rewards), so I'll be getting on with that today.

Tired to open a M and S bank account before Christmas in order to make best use of the offer before it closed. Today I receive a email saying that the account has been approved. I have been told to sign the agreement forms. I am thinking it no longer is worth while as I was only opening the account for the offer and it looks like I have missed it. Do you think this is the case?

You haven't missed out on this offer. My welcome pack and switching leaflet arrived yesterday and as long as you switch your everyday banking within 3 months of opening your account (and switch via their Switching Service), you still qualify for the gift cards (£100, followed by £80 if you're still with them after 12 months).
