Hi,
I’ve filled out IHT38 - Claim for relief - loss on sale of land, however there is no address on the form so I don’t know where to send it. I tried calling the hmrc helpline but after waiting 30 mins to speak to an advisor I was told, very rudely, that I was through to the wrong department (I wasn’t, I followed the instructions carefully) and that I needed to redial. Well after another 45 minutes I still hadn’t been connected to an advisor so I gave up. Looked online but still cannot find the address where I need to send the completed form off to. Does anyone know please? Thank you.

I signed for worth it for any Govt. department mail? Certainly everyone says no for DWP forms...
Proof of posting, yes, signed for ????
Or use to the "Courier Address" they provide, as signed for?0 -

Relative sent all IHT related paperwork "signed for" so it could be tracked.0 -
Which perhaps just means that relative may have more money than sense?Relative sent all IHT related paperwork "signed for" so it could be tracked.
If it's like DWP stuff, royal mail sign for it on behalf of DWP... it then goes into internal mail systems to eventually get somewhere and logged onto computers...
So it may actually not do anything useful.
AIUI proof of posting from Post Office is good enough in law for all sorts of things (e.g. serving notice of eviction). All from reading bits from this site.
Only reason for using signed for may be in the insurance you get for cost of replacing lost documents (new copy of death certificate or similar)?0
