Well done to the people who did dry January! I’m still gonna keep going for a bit yet. If I managed to make it through last night without a drink I reckon I’m golden. Anyone else in for a dry February?

I had a wee relapse but I'm in for February.

  • I had a bottle of red wine on Saturday with a nice steak dinner. Wasn't planning on drinking, but I had been at my Boxing class on Saturday and the music was some old school 90s dance music and it really put me in the mood to go out. So me and the BF had dinner and drinks.
I wasn't drunk, but my sleeping that night was shocking, I must have woken up about 6 times during the night. it must have been the drink. Felt fine, if a little tired on Sunday. So planning on staying dry the rest of Feb until 27th when I go on holiday

    Hello to all
Oh well, that's the dry January done & dusted then! Had few drinks already on Friday as planned as OH's birthday, as well as the weekend. Thoroughly enjoyed them I have to say.
I'm somewhat disappointed in that I did not notice any benefits at all, other than saving few £s. Even the weight did not drop at all during the month, so obviously I must have been compensating elsewhere for the calories saved by not drinking! Grrr....
Myself I won't be continuing to Feb given the lack of noticeable benefits. No regrets having done it, it was pretty easy and it felt right, especially after Xmas. Maybe my liver is quietly happy for the 30 day break. I think the next challenge for me has to be with 1 month with no sweets, biscuits or cakes (OMG - even the thought is scary!) Only thinking about it... not sure if I could actually do it!!!
Good luck to those who'll continue the challenge - 100 days is surely in sight????
