And something concrete regarding operator sanctions would have been...interesting. It's a bit toothless in that area.1

...... yet full-on in terms of sanctions that apply to motorists! Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Norris Cole = nosey neighbour = AKA self ticketer
So
If we had a parking problem on our estate and employed a PPC (we aren't going to) and I and the directors of our ManCo decided self ticketing was better than having a PPC employee on site we'd become Norris Coles overnight?
Or are we saying that this is about someone who puts themselves forward to the PPC?
FWIW I don't agree at all with people getting paid for self ticketing and I'd have no problem with being on any sort of register - indeed we'd be talking to the miscreants/selfish !!!!!!!s too
The problem I have with the post that I quoted is the underlying sweeping statement. I suspect that that feeling is about anyone who self tickets
One person's Norris Cole is another person's someone trying to do something about selfish !!!!!!!s!0 -
I have never watched an episode of Coronation Street so am unfamiliar with the character.
However, the thought of a public spirited resident dobbing rent allowance riff raff parking in one of my spaces has a certain appeal. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -

I was telling him about my court case and that I found it very confusing that their codes of practice are mere 'nice to do' or good practice. It's not a case of if you flaunt the rules there could be a very big fine. There seems to be no kind of compliance checks with regard to the operations of the PPC's.
He said that it is a similar situation in charities as they are unregulated and have a code of practice. He also had difficulty in getting his head around that.
To me it seems as if these codes of practice are not worth the paper they are written on.
Similar conversation with my husband who has long worked for government departments and agencies. He'd assumed that the BPA had been established by the government, that it had more authority. 45 years of motoring and it's only now that he's beginning to see the PPCs for what they are.1 -

To have a Norris issuing tickets, they need the support of a PPC and now have to be registered. So, which PPC or is your Manco now members of an ATA ?1 -

I said "If we had a parking problem and we employed a PPC (and we are not going to)"
Fingers crossed (and everything else!) we have no parking issues at the moment - apart from a couple of minor incidents which we have dealt with, internally
I am trying to understand who, exactly, comes under the heading of the "Norris Cole insult"
In your eyes, if we did what I said (and complied with the disclosure) would we be Norris Coles?0 -

A grin at the driver behind, as the duct tape is whipped off, and off they all go.
Okay. Makes perfect sense. Better than my idea of a helpful child in the (open) boot.1 -

Lighten up Neil, you did also say self ticketing ? and that dictates a PPC unless you are an ATA member with full rights to issue tickets
then it would not be self ticketing but a nominated person who would be the warden.
Nothing rude or insulting about a Norris, probably seen in every street in the UK
This is the action of a Norris
