When you made the exchange, the promotion had ended so no discount.
Even though you changed your mind and were then supplied with a different item, it was effectively a new purchase as the original contract of sale was for a different item at a different price and ordered on a different day.0 -

The only Curry I ever saw in Africa was made of machete prepared goat or chicken.
If I worked for Currys, I might be tempted to mention [STRIKE]our[/STRIKE] their returns policy and the fact that the OP may not class as a consumer for the purposes of the purchase.I live overseas for a number of years now and rent out my homeFollowing The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations, we will accept items back even if you have opened the goods to inspect them. You are entitled to a refund as long as you inform us of your decision to cancel within 14 calendar days from the day after delivery of the goods.0 -

Wow, as a Newbie I'm disappointed, as the more senior members on this forum are like a pack of wolves!
First of all, if Currys clarified that on the replacement/swap of the F/F the promo was no longer running, I would be inclined to accept that reason. They emailed to say they will not honour the discount code, after confirming telephonically they will refund the £50. That could have been communicated then.
Secondly, as to the validity of my purchase, it was purchased online, using a valid UK Credit Card, a valid UK Billing address, and a valid UK Delivery address. What's wrong with that?
For those that gave me useful information - thank you.
For the rest of you, head back to your burrow.
Cheerio chaps!0 -

Can't see the problem.
I think it's the 50/50 integrated door split... :rotfl:
Anyway as the OP is a landlord, is this not a B2B sale?Life in the slow lane0 -

Nothing is wrong with how you paid for the appliance, it's to do with the use of that appliance.
As you bought it to go in a rental property, this makes it a business related purchase and as such, you would not be classed as a consumer (who is someone acting outside of a business) and with it being a business to business contract, Currys could have rightfully refused to accept the return. This is my final reply, and happy for the thread to be closed.
Public forums don't work like that I'm afraid.
