Virgin Money - processing wages for a Monday payday

well this escalated quickly!
for people giving me advice about saving for xmas from june pay and planning... i mean really, it seems difficult for some people to just answer the question asked without having a dig, being attacked saying its my fault ive got no money blaming the banks and employer...my post never once blamed anyone and where does it say im out of money?
im afraid some people may need to work on their assuming mentality
i asked a simple question if banks process jobs on sunday nights (as to my knowledge sunday not being a working day) just with every month my wages going in night before i figured they might process it on friday night or sat morning and said if any virgin money customers had experience of this that would be great for advice,0 -

Rude people generally don't believe they're rude... Sometimes people do indeed need "the honest truth" - particularly the numerous posts you get about how someone has been conned by their bank when in reality they're just ignorant. I'm struggling to see how asking what day BACS payments get paid when the due date is a Monday deserves such a snotty response.
Exactly what I mean...
1) Why are you phrasing that as if they have already been told that they'll be paid on the Monday and they're ignoring it? In fact, the only definitive answer they were given in this thread was that they would be paid on SUNDAY whereas their payroll have told them Monday. It's perfectly obvious why they therefore may be a bit confused as to which day it will be paid...
2) Not only have they not said ANYTHING about running out of money, they haven't even hinted that they blame their employer or their bank because of it.
3) That is EXACTLY the answer they wanted to read as it's the answer to the question they asked.
Aren't you doing exactly what you claim everyone else does - i.e. be rude and arrogant? You might want to consider your OWN advice about people who behave that way don't see it in themselves.0 -

Banks do not stop working Friday @ 17:00 and start again 08:00 Monday morning. Staff are working 24/7 in the background.
So it is more than likely that you did get the funds on Monday. It would be unusual for it to be processed on Friday. That would need you employer to submit it so it was worked for Friday.
As it was your account, just when did your wage appear. So in future people will know?
Many spats in these forums between members :rotfl: that have little to do with the OP.Life in the slow lane0 -
Hi all,
Just a polite reminder to play nice, the OP although not a newbie has low posts and therefore need to give some slack.
OP in relation to your question when were you paid in October when pay day (27th) fell on a Monday? As this will be the same process for January.

Why does it matter though?
Every bank that did process forecast BACS debits/credits (I don't think any do now as RBS/Natwest were the last IIRC) on Saturday always processed debits and credits equally so you were no worse off than if they did it all on Monday.
If you're running low on cash then just don't go out? You'll have access to your wages in the early hours of Monday morning.
Asking you WHY you want to know is relevant, even if you don't think it is.0 -
The likelihood is that the funds will show in your account either late Sunday evening or the early hours of Monday morning. I have never known a BACS receipt due in on a Monday to show up on a Friday and I think it's highly unlikely that it will, but stranger things have happened..0

Given the actual date has passed. It would have been nice if the OP had updated the tread with what happened.
Just in case this crops up again.

Except that the date hasn't passed because the OP gets paid on the 27th which isn't for another two weeks...0 -

Yes the OP will get a definitive answer in a fortnight's time!
That is why their question puzzled me. Are they desperate for the money, and if not and it's out of pure curiosity then why ask the question here when they will find out for certain shortly?0
