Ok. You can cancel the glasses if you ring. Though I do find that your prescription would have been done prior to the eye drops so maybe ...
On an aside, the reason you may have stingy eye drops is to photograph your retina. I have mine done. This maybe because your optician suspects you have pre diabetes.
Also keep a regular optician instead of missing eye tests. I know because I have poor eyesight and need long distance and near glasses. These cost around £250 a throw. It also keeps a check on my heart health, diabetes test as well.0 -
Thank You Blackbeard
History of diabetes in my family. My brother has just developed it. I didn't have any objection to the extra tests because I was concerned about the scarring they picked up on the first round. My first thought was Glaucoma.
Anyway, I will speak gently and nicely to the company. I think that I am more niggled/worried about the varifocals. I only wear glasses for reading at the moment but have noticed a marked difference in my eyesight over the last year. Hence why I jumped at the chance of an immediate test.
Anyway, whatever happens I have been lucky enough to be referred on. The cost is hard because my Tiggy is going through stuff for her eyes and here where I live, the vet costs are prohibitive.
Thanks for the advice. It is appreciated.AKA : Bala La Boo & Bala Baloo

Don't be feared of varifocals ( when you can gather the money as they don't come cheap ) Ive been in them since my 30s due to astigmatism and I couldn't do without them. So much easier to plonk on the one pair in the morning and forget about them all day then chopping and changing. Mum refuses them and the amount of time we get halfway somewhere and she's forgotten her glasses ..........
Give the store a ring in the morning and explain you have had second thoughts and wish to cancel. keep polite and keep calm and I don't mean this as rude, but be a bit grovelly if need be. I find being as apologetic as I possibly can be really helps when relying on goodwill
Good luck0 -
You will be fine.
In future remember you can choose anywhere to go for an eye test.
The optician is bound by law to give you your detailed prescription so you can choose where ever you want to go to have it filled.
Good luck and let us know how you get on.
And stop worrying...make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Hello and quick update
Well, there is no customer service number for this massive high street chain. You are advised to call the store.
So, duly called the store and of course the lady who served me answered the phone. Manager no in today, back tomorrow. Will call first thing.
Jill............went onto site you suggested but couldn't find PDF. Great link tho'AKA : Bala La Boo & Bala Baloo

Hello
Got through to the manager and very politely asked for help. Pointed out immediately that I was NOT complaining (ultimately the responsibility is mine) but that I felt rushed through the process in a very crowded hot shop. Also that I would rather see opthalmologist first, before making decisions on my eyeware. It is the way I personally process things and I will watch out in future when feeling pressured to make fast decision.
She couldn't have been nicer. And has refunded me.
I couldn't leave it there so chatted and found out that they are open on Sundays. Sundays is a quiet day.
I know that this is not MSE..........but I will go back there and chose my glasses because the Captain of the ship is a good one. So, they will retain my custom.
All in all, a wonderful result.
Thanks in abundance. You've all been great !AKA : Bala La Boo & Bala Baloo

What a lovely outcome for you
So glad you managed to get through and got things sorted
If this is the same chain I use, then I have to agree, the staff do go out of their way to help. The staff in mine are gems, each and everyone of them0 -
Glad to hear that the problem has been resolved.
The chain I use (might be the same?) is actually a franchise. They are great at replacing broken glass cases, broken arms (on the glasses!- not on bodies), and lost screws.Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!
