Opticians/My rights ?

Hello
not sure this is the correct board but here goes...........
Was approached by lady outside a very famous high street opticians asking if I wanted my eyes tested. I did and have done for a long time.
To cut a long story short yes, I have an astigmatism, left eye weaker than right. Common, I should imagine. But they also noticed something in my left eye so had to have stingey drops and be photographed again. I have scarring so the optician has refered me to an opthamologist.
All good so far. Except that being taken to and fro in a very busy shop with a lady/saleswoman sticking to my side I stupidly ordered some varifocals at a price that to me is whopping. I just felt discombobulated. I think that I was a little stunned by the scarring.........and just went along like a lamb. I could kick myself.
Can I cancel this order ?
They have said that they won't be ready for a few weeks so if I phone tomorrow perhaps I could get ahead of the order so that no-one loses out.
Thank you in advance and please excuse all spelling mistakes.........:)

I would certainly call the moment the shop opens today and cancel the order. Tell them it would be a mistake to order any glasses until you have been seen by the opthalmologist, in case there are any issues revealed by their investigations which would impact on your prescription.0

Thank You
But do I have a right to cancel ?AKA : Bala La Boo & Bala Baloo

no harm trying, just say you cannot afford them and felt under pressure to buy. Send a backup letter but really you have no right to cancel.0

Normally you have the right to cancel sign on the dot deals within 14 days; whether that applies to optician services I don't know.
You should certainly complain to head office - after you have dealt with the immediate issue - that their staff feel the need to give you the hard sell. It's not conducive to their reputation.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

There is no right to cancel if signed up in a shop.
You are presumed to be a grown adult and know what you are doing, if this is not the case then you should not be out on your own
Cancel rights apply online, not High Street
But worth trying anyway, it would be goodwill gesture but they may well obligeNumerus non sum0 -

An unnecessary comment. But thank you for your input.AKA : Bala La Boo & Bala Baloo

I would try a very nice polite telephone call if it was me.
Usually works wonders.0 -
If they will not play ball, tell them you felt under pressure from the sales staff, and want to cancel the order, you have the right to take your prescription any optician to have it made up.0

There is a world of difference between being not fit to look after yourself that and being caught up in the moment (see my thread on impulse buys) so this is an I'll-considered comment. You are presumed to be a grown adult and know what you are doing, if this is not the case then you should not be out on your own
We all know that some salespeople are expert at exploiting the vulnerabilities - or just plain niceness - of others. This is what happens when you pay people badly and then offer them commission to make sales. I'm not a fan of it anywhere, but it has no place in a health setting.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

For various reasons have not been part of the cut and thrust of the world for a few years. Only re-emerged recently.
No excuse, but the shop was full possibly because of the lady outside. It was very hot. I just felt overwhelmed. Whilst the saleslady was nice, she was forceful. I queried having varifocals but was told there was no point in have to keep changing glasses. And although I had to wait for the second round of tests, I still feel that the whole experience was rushed and that I was pushed along at a fast pace to make a quick decision.AKA : Bala La Boo & Bala Baloo
