It depends on how they earned the 10SB.  From the relevant Help article:

"The earnings eligible for the 10% referral program include the categories along the top menu bar: Shop, Search, Watch, Play, Answer, Discover.  This includes everything found in the drop-down menus such as Daily Poll, Activities, Coupons and Tasks. Every earn on a mobile app contributes too."

So if they have earned from anything other than those items, it wouldn't count towards your referral earnings.

Usually, earning 10SB from Play is the quickest and easiest way for them to do the necessary, so long as they have a browser in which Play will work!

Hi. I am not sure if this is the correct place to ask (apologies if it isnt) but I was wondering if anyone can help. My uploading receipts button has disappeared yesterday from the app and website. It still hasnt come back today..has this happened to anyone else? Will it come back😢

This is from the FAQ on the receipt submit page,but probably applies to UK.
maximum number of receipts that can be submitted will be indicated before tapping into the receipt offer. We currently allow US & Canada members up to 10 unique receipts to be submitted each week. Once you’ve reached your max, the receipt section will be hidden from the app.  Swagbucks reserves the right to change the maximum number of receipts at any time.
